A Toast

to the 2011 Knitters’ Hunk:

Nigel John Dermot Neill, or Sam, as he is more widely known.

Sam, who celebrated a birthday during the contest, was nominated by both myself (I can finally say it: I love him!  I’ve wanted him to win almost every year.) AND Lorette.  Interestingly, Lorette was also the winner of the inaugural KH contest, and supplied some beautiful prizes for this year’s winner.

Since I’m assuming Lorette does not want me to send her own prizes back to her, I’m going to pass them on to the nominator of our runner-up, Melanie.  Melanie adores Jeremy Irons, always nominates him, and, I think, should be rewarded for her devotion.  So, ladies, watch your mailboxes — prizes will be on their way, uh, eventually.  :/

Thanks to all who voted despite the hardships and the shutting downs and the restartings.  I hope we had enough fun this year to bring it back again next.

As for me, I am closing this blog, and my account with WordPress.  No hard feelings, just time to make a change.  If you’d like, you can keep up with me now right here.  In a few weeks, to celebrate the opening of the new blog, I’m going to have another contest — one Hannah has been after me to have for at least two years.  Stay tuned!

Thanks to all who have stuck with the contest this year; it’s been annoying and frustrating, but, wow, what a way to end. The 2011 Knitters’ Hunk will be announced here on Monday.

Oh, My Goodness

What a magnificent Final this is going to be!  From the four men below, you get to choose the two who will duke it out tomorrow for the 2011 Knitters’ Hunk crown.

All were clear winners yesterday save for Robert Sean Leonard, whose victory over two-time KH Alan Rickman came in the wee hours of the morning with the toss of a coin.

Poor Alan.  He’s so possessive of his title.

Let’s see — I know who nominated Irons and Neill.  I hope the nominators of Newman and Leonard are still keeping up with the races and can identify themselves to me if their man wins.  Otherwise, I’m going to have to devise some fair-but-clever way to determine to whom go the prizes.
